This installation piece, called “Car Atlas,” is by David T. Waller.  He used 2,500 old toy cars to create this rainbow-colored series of rings, which won the People’s Award at the Arts Depot Open in 2010.

We had a million of those toy cars lying around my house growing up, since my younger brother used to collect them.  It’s nice to see that someone found a way to use them in a new way, while still managing to capture the vibrant fun those cars embody to a child.
